Darrian & Justin | Historic Thayer Hotel Wedding

As I walked into the Thayer Hotel on Darrian & Justin's wedding day, I ran into Justin in the lobby, and the fire alarm was going off. I shrugged and started heading towards where the girls were getting ready, until a worker stopped me and was all, "THIS IS NOT A DRILL." So out we all went- wedding guests and the bridal party (with hair & makeup done- no dresses on yet- thank goodness.) I was watching Darrian closely while we hung around outside- something like this could really set a bride off when nerves are already high. But she just kept laughing, her smile genuine. She shrugged, knowing there was nothing she could do about it, but choosing to have a good time with it and go with the flow. (A trait that will serve her well as an Army spouse. ;))

Once the day got rolling, it was so beautiful (and hot!) West Point holds special meaning for Darrian & Justin, as this was where they met. It's kind of crazy as they're both from opposite sides of the country, that they'd end up here and find each other. Their ceremony was held on the Thayer's back hilltop overlooking the Hudson River. Darrian's father officiated, complete with a hand fasting ceremony.

As guests enjoyed cocktail hour (and a mashed potato bar! What!), the incredibly fun & hilarious bridal party grabbed some shots around Thayer's grounds. The reception, held in Eisenhower Ballroom, was full of dancing, laughter, and of course...cowbell.

I enjoyed every moment of this day, and think the world of these two. Enjoy reliving May 29th! xo
