"Ten times a day something happens to me like this - some strengthening throb of amazement - some good sweet empathic ping and swell. This is the first, the wildest and the wisest thing I know: that the soul exists and is built entirely out of attentiveness." - Mary Oliver
Kim has to be one of the most beautiful mamas I know. Obviously on the exterior she's gorgeous, but more so on the inside. One of the most striking things about her to me is her attentiveness. She's in love with motherhood- every last single bit of it. The hard, the messy, the exhausting- she revels in it all, and doesn't want to miss a second.
We started off the session in their home. Kim just wanted some everyday shots of them doing what they normally do- hanging out, reading, playing. The chubby hands grasping a block, the way sweet B giggles at a book, the fur babies cuddling. Because those are the memories we want when we're 90. Those are the ordinary happenings that most of us don't think twice about on a day-to-day basis, but that Kim knows are going to become memories all too soon, and she wants to remember.
Each day our babies are a little bit older. Don't blink, mamas.
