It's always nice when you genuinely like the brides & grooms you work with on a wedding day, but I don't just like Melissa- I adore her (okay, and David too.) She is a photographer as well (and just graduated law school, no biggie) so I knew I had the freedom to creatively capture (confetti cannons & getting gassed out with atmospheric aerosol spray in a tiny room...whats upppp) the day.
Their wedding was held at the Highlands Country Club in Garrison, NY, which I can't say enough good things about. I thought it was so cool that we had a beautiful peek over at West Point across the river, since that's where David just graduated from. The entire day ran so smoothly, it was if everything knew these two deserved the best. I only cried (really hard, but whatever) once- during their first dance when I saw Melissa crying and then I saw my couple from earlier that week (Darrian & Justin) dancing together, and all these other newly or about to be married couples so in love, and I just kind of lost it. Anyway, I regained composure and watched the evening unfold to tons of hilarious dancing, delicious cake, and pure celebration. Exactly the way a wedding day should go, and I'm still thankful I got to be the one to capture it.
